Game Components

Master the relics. Command the field. Every piece tells a story of power…

Hexarion Conquest blends tabletop strategy with mystical arcana. Below is your guide to every core component of the game — both functional and flavorful. These elements not only drive gameplay but serve as relics of the world itself.

Hexmasters (Aspects)

Each Hexmaster represents one of six legendary classes:
Warrior, Archer, Rogue, Mage, Cleric, and Druid.

  • Each player begins with a full roster of six.
  • A Hexmaster enters the battlefield unattuned — empowered only by its unique Class Edict, which can be used once per game.
  • You may have up to three Hexmasters in play at any given time.

Each Hexmaster is a 3D game piece composed of multiple layers:

  • Base (color-coded by player)
  • Spindle (vertical post that supports upgrades)
  • Focalis (rotating selector)
  • Siglum (top cap, which can change to reflect status effects)

Glyphexes

Ancient hexagonal relics that fuse with Hexmasters to awaken lost power.

A Glyphex is an upgrade that “attunes” a Hexmaster, granting access to three powerful Variable Edicts. Each Glyphex also provides access to the 3 Basic Edicts shared by all attuned Hexmasters:
Attack · Fortify · Dash

  • Players build a Lexicon of 12 Glyphexes at the start of the game.
  • A Glyphex can only be used once per game, unless Reclaimed.
  • Each Glyphex can only be Reclaimed once — if destroyed again, it is permanently discarded.

Glyphexes are selected at the start of each turn and may be attuned by paying 1 CE.

Focalis (Selector Ring)

The Focalis is a rotating hex ring placed atop each Hexmaster, used to select which Edict the Hexmaster will activate.

  • When unattuned, the Focalis displays the Hexmaster’s Class Edict.
  • Once attuned with a Glyphex, the Focalis rotates to reveal one of the six total Edicts available.

Class Edict usage is tracked by flipping the Focalis to its blank side once it has been used.

Siglum & Runed Siglums

The Siglum is the neutral top cap of each Hexmaster — placed over the Focalis and Spindle to secure all components.

Certain game states modify the Siglum:

Runed SiglumEffect
MarkedHexmaster takes +1 damage from next attack
ShieldedPrevents next damage
RootedPrevents movement until next turn
SilencedCannot use Edicts next turn

Each condition has its own Runed Siglum — a top cap embedded with a unique symbol or glyph.

Spindle

The Spindle is the vertical center post on every Hexmaster — it holds the Glyphex and Focalis in place.

  • All components slot securely onto the Spindle.
  • The Runed Siglum caps the stack, locking the configuration during gameplay.

Lexicon (Glyphex Deck)

Your Lexicon is the 12-Glyphex deck you bring into battle.

  • Chosen from your full collection before the game begins.
  • No duplicate Glyphexes allowed in a Lexicon.
  • Each turn, you draw a new Glyphex from your Lexicon, whether you use it or not.

The Lexicon is your tactical loadout. Building one is part of the game’s deckbuilding layer, allowing deep customization before the first turn even begins.

CE Tracker (Core Energy)

Every Home Base includes a CE Tracker — a dial tracking your Core Energy (CE), which fuels all actions.

  • Each player starts with 1 CE.
  • At the end of each of your turns, you gain +1 CE, up to a max of 3 CE.
  • You may briefly hold 1 overflow CE, usable only during your own turn.

CE is the currency of Hexarion — used to attune Glyphexes, revive Hexmasters, and ultimately determine your survival. If your base reaches 0 CE, you lose.

Special Board Hexes

Hex TypeFunction
Home BaseCE tracker location; starting point for deployments
SanctumRevive point; each player places 1 during setup
Resonance HexGrants +1 CE if occupied at the start of your turn
Rooted HexTrap tile left behind by Edicts (like Rootstep); roots enemies that enter

Hexes effects are defined by gameplay context and subtle visual cues.
