Drain is a Variable Edict in Hexarion Conquest that steals Core Energy (CE) from your opponent — giving you a tactical edge in both resource management and tempo. It’s one of the few Edicts that affects the Home Base directly, making it a powerful tool for disruption.
Drain – Edict Definition
Effect:
Steal 1 CE from your opponent if they have more than 1 CE.
You gain that CE immediately.
Key Properties:
Attribute | Value |
---|---|
Type | Variable Edict – Resource Control |
Target | Opponent’s Home Base (not a Hexmaster) |
Effect | Opponent loses 1 CE, you gain 1 CE |
Restriction | Can only be used if the opponent has more than 1 CE at the time of activation |
CE Cost | ❌ None — free to activate |
Tactical Uses:
- Slow down enemy upgrades or revival plays by draining key CE
- Hit CE mid-turn, making it harder for the opponent to activate powerful Edicts
- Combine with Channel or Reclaim to snowball a resource advantage
- Use strategically — timing is crucial, since you can’t Drain if the enemy only has 1 CE left
Clarifications:
- Drain does not deal damage — it affects resources, not units
- If your opponent has only 1 CE, Drain cannot be activated
- If you’re already at 3 CE, the stolen CE becomes overflow, usable until the end of your turn
- Does not affect Glyphexes directly — but can disrupt their Attunement plans
