Intro
A duel in Hexarion isn’t about speed — it’s about sequence.
Every turn is a four-phase rhythm of energy, intent, and execution. Learning this structure is key to mastering the battlefield.
The Four Turn Phases
Each player’s turn proceeds through the following sequence:
Start Phase
- Gain +1 Core Energy (CE) (to a maximum of 3 CE).
If you are already at 3 CE, gain 1 Overflow CE (temporary).
- Draw 1 Glyphex from your Lexicon.
- You may deploy 1 new Hexmaster adjacent to your Home Base.
- Newly deployed Hexmasters cannot move or act this turn.

Upgrade Phase
- Spend 1 CE to attune a Hexmaster with a Glyphex.
- The Glyphex must be from your hand.
- The Hexmaster must be unattuned.
- Attach the Glyphex to the Hexmaster’s Spindle and set the Focalis to the desired Edict.
- You may only attune 1 Glyphex per turn.
Strategy Tip: Timing your upgrades is crucial — early Edicts can change tempo, but late upgrades create power spikes.
Activate Phase
- Choose 1 Hexmaster to activate.
- That Hexmaster may either:
- Move 1 hex, OR
- Use 1 Edict (Basic, Variable, or Class — if available)
Activation Rules
- You may only activate one Hexmaster per turn.
- A Hexmaster cannot use the same Variable Edict two turns in a row.
- Class Edicts are once per game — flip the Focalis window to its blank side after use.
End Phase
- Remove expired effects:
- Shielded, Decoy, Rooted, Overflow CE, etc.
- Discard any destroyed Glyphexes.
- If a Reclaimed Glyphex is destroyed again, move it to the permanent discard.
Tip: Be aware of CE decay and reclaim limits. Overcommitting too early can cost you key tools later.

Turn Example (Player 2)
- Start Phase: Gains +1 CE (now at 2), draws a Glyphex, deploys their Mage.
- Upgrade Phase: Spends 1 CE to attune their Rogue with Shatterbind Glyph.
- Activate Phase: Activates the Rogue and uses the “Backstab” Edict on an adjacent enemy.
- End Phase: Removes the Shielded status from last turn, no overflow to clear.

One Hexmaster, Infinite Pressure:
The power of Hexarion isn’t in how many pieces you move — it’s when you move the right one. Your opponent is always watching the one you didn’t activate.
